UG and PG students in Mumbai can now get 100-trip passes worth Rs 999 to Rs 500 on BEST buses.
Mumbai: In Mumbai, undergraduate and postgraduate students will soon be eligible for bus pass discounts. A monthly permit for 100 rides worth Rs. 999 will be provided to students from August 22 at their local bus depot, according to the official statement from Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport (BEST).
“For graduates and recent graduates, BEST has introduced a special student pass. They would receive passes valid for 100 trips totaling Rs 999 for Rs 500. From August 22, 2022, passes can be purchased online through the “BEST Chalo app” or at the nearest bus depot”, tweeted the BEST Bus Transportation.

The decision came a day after Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde suggested giving students bus passes.
Since school and college students have already benefited from reduced prices, rates for UG and PG students are now included in the student rate as of this announcement.
