Summer 2022 student parking registration at University Park begins May 9

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — University Park student parking registration for summer 2022 will be available exclusively online through the Penn State Transportation Services website beginning at noon Monday, May 9.

All students, regardless of semester, are eligible to enroll in summer parking.

Information on available student permit options can be found on the Student Parking website. For students who will not require on-campus parking prior to the start of Summer Session II, permit rates will be pro-rated at the start of each month. Current prorated rates will appear at checkout when purchasing online.


– Active Penn State ID and Access Account.

— License plate(s) information (vehicles must be owned by the student or an immediate family member).

General registration

Once registration is complete, students print out a temporary permit to display on their dashboard for immediate parking. Students can return to their account to print the permit if a printer is not available during registration.

Students will be able to pick up their official parking permit at the Transportation Services office starting two business days after completing the online permit registration. Permits must be collected before the expiry date of their temporary permit (25 days from the date of registration). The Transportation Services office is located at 1 Eisenhower Bridge and hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and students will need to bring their Penn State ID when picking up their permit.

Any students experiencing issues while attempting to register for a permit are urged to avoid double-clicking or using the back button, as these actions may lead to errors in your transaction. If you have any problems trying to register, exit the site and contact Transportation Services for assistance.

Permit enhancements and temporary permits

General student parking registration will not be available at the Transportation Services office. However, students eligible for upgrades (such as some graduate assistants and student-athletes) and students with a state-issued Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) sign who wish to purchase an additional parking permit for access at base parking must visit the Transportation Services Office to obtain these permits. General student parking registration must be completed online before applying for these options. Students registering for short-term and day permits must also register with the Transportation Services Office.
