Student Visa and Immigration Advisory Service, Global Recruitment and Admissions
The work of the Student Visa and Immigration Advisory Service (VISAS Team) covers:
- Visa and immigration advice – helping students and their dependents
- CAS and ATAS issuance
- Compliance and Reporting – monitoring academic engagement and ensuring that the University and its students remain compliant with Home Office regulations, carrying out entitlement checks and reporting changes to the Home Office
The VISAS team works closely with the student services hub, admissions and student records colleagues, the international office and other professional services. We also have close links with the Nationalities Office of the Police and are in frequent liaison with the Home Office.
The ideal candidate will be a highly organized team player with good knowledge of the higher education sector and up-to-date knowledge of UK immigration regulations, with a focus on those which impact students of higher education.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate effectively and persuasively with staff, customers and other stakeholders.
This role involves planning key University events; previous event management experience is desirable.
The successful candidate will need to be authorized by the Ministry of the Interior to manage Biometric Residence Permits (BRP). He will therefore need to be a UK national or have an ILR or have EU pre-established/established status.
