JOHANNESBURG – Higher Education and Training Minister Blade Nzimande has announced that NSFAS applications for student funding will open on November 2, 2021.

“I am happy to say that the application system will be open from Tuesday, November 2, 2021 until January 7, 2022, the date of the publication of the results of the senior national certificate. “

Nzimande and the NSFAS Board of Directors held a press briefing in Pretoria on the opening of the nominations season for the 2022 academic year and the overall preparation of the program.

He said nominations would be open for nearly two months.

The minister said he was aware there had been concerns about the opening of applications later than usual, but said it would not affect students.

“I want to reassure everyone and the country as a whole, that this will in no way disadvantage those who seek NSFAS for support for their post-school education,” he said.
