The description

Operational responsibilities

  • To provide a comprehensive plan to improve the overall service provided to international undergraduate and graduate students at KU, to help them gain a positive experience while studying at KU, and to fully integrate and adapt to their new life in abu dhabi
  • Work with the Enrollment Office to obtain government approvals (permissions) for newly accepted international students.
  • Oversee international student integration arrangements, including travel from their home country to the UAE and airport meet and greet services.
  • Conduct a comprehensive orientation program at the start of each semester designed to familiarize international students with KU policies and procedures.
  • Work with KU’s Government Relations Office to help international students obtain their EIDs, resident visas, UAE driver’s licenses, open bank accounts, obtain local SIM cards, and other necessary services.
  • Provide visa and immigration assistance to international students and conduct ongoing immigration-related programs and workshops to ensure they maintain their legal status.
  • Maintain current and up-to-date knowledge of immigration laws and accurately maintain all aspects of international student immigration records.
  • Oversee the support provided to international students for their housing needs before and upon arrival on campus, including collaborating with rental agencies and serviced apartments in Abu Dhabi.
  • Oversee the arrangement for assistance provided to international students with requests for MoE equivalence of their international diplomas and transcripts.
  • Work collaboratively with various other offices in student support and academic programs.
  • Provide a strong acculturation program, including trips to malls, grocery stores, and city attractions in Abu Dhabi.
  • Provide counseling services to help international students cope with culture shock, homesickness and understand new norms.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other campus departments to ensure a positive student experience from enrollment to graduation.
  • Liaise closely with the Director of Student Services providing advice on all policy and procedural matters, codes of practice and related matters.
  • Ensure that the mission and vision of the department are consistent with the goals and objectives of the Department of Academic and Student Services and are regularly reviewed and measured.
  • Develop and manage a departmental budget; monitor and approve related expenses as required.
  • Perform regular assessment and quality assurance and implement necessary development and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with University information security policies and procedures and report breaches or other security risks accordingly.
  • Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Provide coaching, guidance and mentoring as needed to enhance internal team capabilities and ensure achievement of established goals and plans.
  • Recommend appropriate training courses according to predetermined training needs, evaluate their effectiveness and monitor their results.
  • Perform performance reviews for subordinates according to planned schedules and recommend necessary actions according to applied practices.
  • Hold periodic meetings with subordinates to ensure priorities are clear and workflow is running smoothly.
  • Tracking employee administrative matters such as vacation, leave and other administrative and related matters.


Qualifications required

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field. A master’s degree in international education, college counseling or a related field is preferred.

Experience required


  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.

UAE Nationals:

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
