(LAMAR, Colorado) – Lamar Community College (LCC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Janet Steinkamp as Acting Vice President of University and Student Services. Steinkamp will hold the position while the college conducts its national search for someone to fill the position on a permanent basis.
Steinkamp is currently President and CEO and Senior Consultant for Health Systems Development, LLC and Senior Assistant Professor and Thesis Chair for Grand Canyon University College of Doctoral Studies. She has a long history of serving students, including as Associate Vice President of the Red Rocks Community College Health Sciences Campus and Dean of Health Sciences and Social Services at St. Cloud Technical and Community College in Minnesota.
“We are very happy to have Dr Steinkamp at LCC,” said LCC President Dr Linda Lujan. “While she is not applying for the permanent position due to other commitments, we are delighted that Janet is bringing her leadership and diverse skills to our college this fall as we conduct our national research. “
Steinkamp holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership Education from Grand Canyon University; a Master of Arts degree from the College of Professional Psychology, College Student Personnel Administration, and Secondary and Post-Secondary Guidance from the University of Northern Colorado; and a Bachelor of Arts in Career Counseling and Counseling from Mesa State College.
Previously, Steinkamp served as the Director of the Behavioral Health State Innovation Model (SIM) Project of the Office of the Governor of the Department of Human Services and the Colorado Department of Behavioral Health. She was also previously the Executive Director of Take Heart America, a national cardiac arrest survival initiative.
