In this competitive job market, internships are essential. Co-operatives and internships offer you the opportunity to experience the world of professional work and explore your career options. In addition to developing and refining the career preparation skills that make you a marketable job seeker, internships allow you to strengthen your resume AND expand your professional network.

Why is it important to build your professional network? According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, at least 70% of all jobs are filled through networking. Co-ops and internships can lead to exciting new opportunities that might not have been available otherwise.

Thousands of employers use Rent a red hawk to recruit students from Montclair State University! Finding internships is simple and an account has already been created for you. Simply connect to your Rent a red hawk account via NEST, using your University NetID and password (same as Canvas and your Montclair State email). Then,

  1. Click on Works on your left navigation
  2. To choose Find co-ops / internships in the drop-down menu. *

* You must first upload your resume to Rent a red hawk be reviewed and approved by your career guidance services office. Once approved, you will be able to apply for jobs and internships in the system.
