FORT WAYNE, Indiana (WANE) – Applications are now open for two funding opportunities for nursing students in Northeast Indiana.
Questa Education Foundation has announced its partnership with Parkview Health to provide loan grants to nursing students who are within two years of obtaining their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Questa also offers the Virgil J. and Mildred C. Roy Fellowship in Nursing to BSN students pursuing nursing programs in the region.
Both apps are open now, Questa said. The Roy Nursing Fellowship application ends June 30 and the Parkview Nursing Fellowship application ends July 31.
“Nursing is one of our biggest hiring needs,” said Hallie Custer, director of corporate human resources at Parkview Health. “The partnership with Questa to invest in nursing students is a global victory. “
Through the Parkview Nursing Scholars program, eligible students can receive up to $ 5,000 per year in loan funding for education expenses. Questa said loans are 100% forgiven if students graduate and work at Parkview Health after graduation.
“An important aspect of our mission is to develop and retain talent for regional employers,” said Elizabeth Bushnell, CEO of Questa. “The Parkview Nursing Scholars program is the perfect example of how Questa can help local employers meet their hiring needs with innovative solutions. “
Nursing students in the region are also eligible to apply for the Roy Nursing Scholarship to help cover their education costs, Questa said. Applicants must be full-time nursing students attending Indiana University at Fort Wayne, Manchester University, Trine University or Saint Francis University. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic performance and financial need.
Students can apply for both programs by visiting questafoundation.org.
